The German pianist Tim Ovens has been studying the music of John Cage for years. He has recorded a great number of piano works of Cage and performed them in numerous concerts.
In addition to his international concert schedule, Ovens has played for numerous radio and television productions and recorded many CD's as well. From 1987 until 1988, he lived in China, where he taught at various music conservatories, played numerous recitals, and intensively studied Asian art and philosophy. Tim Ovens lives in Hanover, Germany, and Vienna, Austria. He is visiting professor at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China, and professor of piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
